Eric Van Ness, MBA, CFP^{^®}

Eric Van Ness, MBA, CFP® has been helping clients pursue their financial goals as a Financial Advisor with Waddell & Reed, Inc. since 2004. Eric received his Bachelor of Arts from Albion College in Albion, Michigan where he graduated with a degree in Economics and Management. Furthering his education, he earned the distinct recognition of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional in 2009. Eric received his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Illinois.

Prior to Waddell & Reed, Eric served in the United States Army, earning the prestigious Meritorious Service Medal in 2003 for his work as a Civil Affairs Economic Development Team Sergeant in Kosovo. He believes his military training has paved the way for his professional experience as his most significant skills are his laser focus on the long-term results, his ongoing diligence to pursue these results, and the value he places on the client relationships forged through this continuing process.

The majority of Eric’s time is engaged in client meetings, case development for retirement income planning, and investment planning issues, where his focus is on the long-term results and the necessary requirements to pursue these results. Keeping abreast of the changes in the industry, he is able to adjust and help his clients to stay on track.

In his free time, Eric enjoys spending time with his wife Dana and daughter Daphne as well as traveling, reading, theatre, oil painting, home brewing beer, and scuba diving. He is also an avid Chicago Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, and Cubs Fan.
