Spend Less Than You Make.
I work with clients with very different financial situations to help them make progress in creating financial security for themselves and their families. However, if someone doesn’t have any money left over at the end of the month after they’ve paid their bills, that’s a problem we need to solve first. You must spend less than you earn to start building lasting wealth. Without this fundamental financial skill, any investing we talk about will just be theory, and you won’t be ready to take action on it until you have some money to invest.
But don’t be discouraged. Realize that our personal habits drive most of our spending. With some changed habits, you can make progress in saving and investing. First, in order to earn more, you or your spouse may need to take on some side work or make a job change. Next, to spend less, develop a spending plan so that you know where your money goes and where you can begin to cut back. You may be surprised where it’s all going.
Your personal habits drive your spending and if you aren’t earning more than you spend, you must make some different choices in order to start building wealth, and I’d like to help you with that.
